Day 180 – Commitment

Psalm 81:1 (To the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. A Psalm of Asaph.) Sing aloud to Elohiym our strength; make a joyful shout to the Elohiym of Jacob. 2 Raise a song and strike the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the lute. 3 Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, at the full moon, on our solemn feast day. 4 For this is a statute for Israel, a law of the Elohiym of Jacob. 5 This He established in Joseph as a testimony, when He went throughout the land of Egypt, where I heard a language, I did not understand. 6 “I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the baskets. 7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah

8 “Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel, if you will listen to Me! 9 There will be no foreign el among you; nor will you worship any foreign el. 10 I am JEHOVAH your Elohiym, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. 11 However, My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. 12 Therefore, I gave them over to their stubborn heart, to walk in their counsels. 13 Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! 14 I would soon subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries. 15 The haters of JEHOVAH would pretend to be in submission to Him, but their fate would endure forever. 16 He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock, I would have satisfied you.”

God’s names:

God’s character:

People want to be in charge of their lives. They don’t want to subject themselves to anyone. Yet everyday they put themselves under submission to employers and those in authority, while wanting to live their lives their way.

Asaph wanted the people to see the freedom they had in following Elohiym and subject themselves to the law JEHOVAH provided for them. He wanted them to sing and celebrate their freedom found only in Elohiym. However, they wouldn’t listen to him and went about their lives in their way to their destruction. JEHOVAH told them what He would do for them, but they wouldn’t listen to Him.

When you committed your life to Yeshuwa, you agreed to obey Him, worship Him, and live to serve Him. When you do, He provides you with everything you need for your life.

Many Christians believe they can do whatever they want and Yeshuwa will bless them. They believe that calling themselves Christians gives them carte blanche with Yeshuwa. What they believe is not doctrinally sound.

JEHOVAH told His people He would have fed them with the finest wheat and given them honey from the rock if they obeyed Him.

What blessings are you missing in your life because you decided to live your Christian life your way? When was the last time you attended church, read your Bible, and enjoyed the fellowship of other believers?

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When you read and study Yeshuwa’s Word, you will know what Yeshuwa requires of you, and you will do it and live a life of joy and freedom in Him.

Don’t let pride deprive you of Yeshuwa’s blessings. Humble yourself, submit your life to Him and He will feed you with the finest food, and give you honey from the Rock of your Salvation. Everything He promises you is for your health and well-being. Why jeopardize your life by doing whatever you want?

Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for wanting to live my life in my way instead of Yours. Forgive me for eating the delicacies of the world, instead of what You want to provide for me. Let Your Word be my food and quench my thirst. Let it nourish my soul and bring health to my bones. Then I will praise You and receive Your blessings in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
