Day 183 – Wilderness

Psalm 84:1 (To the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.) How lovely is Your tabernacle, O JEHOVAH of hosts! 2 My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of JEHOVAH; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living El. 3 Even the sparrow found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young—even Your altars, O JEHOVAH of hosts, My Melek and my Elohiym. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they will praise You. Selah 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. 6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; the rain also covers it with pools. 7 They go from strength to strength; each one appears before Elohiym in Zion.

8 O JEHOVAH Elohiym of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O Elohiym of Jacob! Selah 9 O Elohiym, behold our shield, and look upon the face of Your anointed. 10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my Elohiym than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For JEHOVAH Elohiym is a sun and shield; JEHOVAH will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. 12 O JEHOVAH of hosts blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Is there a place you would like to be more than any other? Do you long for it with every breath you take?

For the sons of Korah, the place they longed for was the tabernacle in Jerusalem. At the time they penned this psalm they were in exile. They wanted to return home so they could worship Elohiym in the beauty of His holiness instead of the tents of wickedness where they were in exile. They knew that even in the Valley of Baca, a place of wilderness, Elohiym would supply them with everything they needed with pools of living water.

What is your relationship with Yeshuwa like? Do you spend time in Yeshuwa’s presence, in church, Bible study with other believers, or are you in a dry place, away from Yeshuwa? Even in desert places, you can find pools of living water to nourish your soul and revive your relationship with Yeshuwa.

Everyone goes through a dry place in their walk with Yeshuwa. The Israelites spent forty years in the wilderness. Yeshuwa spent forty days in the wilderness. Desert places don’t mean you won’t find Yeshuwa or that He isn’t near. The desert is where you find Him. The Israelites saw JEHOVAH every day in the wilderness as a cloud by day and fire by night. He was always near. Yeshuwa’s wilderness was a place of testing. Your Baca, wilderness, could be both a closeness with Yeshuwa and a place of testing. He will provide the water, His Word to refresh your soul. He will put a longing in your heart to spend more time with Him.

Do you need to go to the wilderness to renew your relationship with Yeshuwa? Take time to evaluate where you are in your relationship with Yeshuwa and spend time in His Word. Your heart and soul will cry out for Him. Take a drink from the pool of living water and renew your spirit.

Yeshuwa told the woman at the well He was the living water.

John 4:7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Iesous said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Iesous answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of Theos, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

Yeshuwa is your living water. He will nourish your soul in your desert place and refresh you.

Let’s pray: Father, refresh my soul with living water, with Your Word. Let me dig deep into Your well and know You supply me with everything I need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
