Day 184 – Restoration

Psalm 85:1 (To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.) JEHOVAH, You have been favorable to Your land; You brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 You forgave the iniquity of Your people; You covered their sin. Selah 3 You took away Your wrath; You turned from the fierceness of Your anger. 4 Restore us, O Elohiym of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease. 5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to every generation? 6 Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? 7 Show us Your mercy, JEHOVAH, and grant us Your salvation.

8 I will hear what Elohiym JEHOVAH will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. 9 His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy and truth met together; righteousness and peace kissed. 11 Truth will spring out of the earth, and righteousness will look down from heaven. 12 Yes, JEHOVAH will give what is good; and our land will yield its increase. 13 Righteousness will go before Him and will make His footsteps our pathway.

When you want help from a specific person you consider everything the person did for you in the past to determine if they would help you again.

The sons of Korah knew JEHOVAH was their only hope. They recalled everything He did for His people in the past and asked Him to restore them again, to turn away his fierce anger and revive them in His salvation.

What do you need Yeshuwa to do in your life? Do you need revival and restoration in your life? Has Satan messed with you, your family, your friends, and without Yeshuwa’s help you won’t survive the trouble you face?

The sons of Korah were specific in their request of JEHOVAH. They wanted him to do what He did in the past: forgive them. They wanted Him to restore and revive them in His salvation. Isn’t that what you want too? Don’t you want Yeshuwa to restore you and bring back the salvation you enjoyed when you accepted Him as Savior and Lord?

Yeshuwa wants you to remember how He helped you in the past, which is what the sons of Korah did in this psalm. They remembered what He did for them.

When John was on the Isle of Patmos, Yeshuwa told him to send letters to the churches. He asked the church of Ephesus to remember their first love.

Revelation 2:1 “To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things say He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the middle of the seven golden lampstands: 2 I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. You tested those who say they are apostles and are not and found them liars; 3 and you persevered and have patience and labored for My name’s sake and did not become weary. 4 Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember, therefore, from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. 6 However, this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Pneuma says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the middle of the Paradise of Theos.”’

The first thing you need to do is remember what Yeshuwa did for you. He saved you with His precious blood, freeing you from Satan’s clutches and setting you free from eternal death.

The sons of Korah remembered what JEHOVAH did in the past for His people and wanted Him to do the same again: forgive, restore, and revive them.

You want the same thing the sons of Korah wanted. You want Yeshuwa to forgive you, restore you, and revive your faith in Him again. You know what you need to do. You need to repent and recommit your life again, especially if you have fallen away from Him.

Too often Christians want Yeshuwa’s help without repenting of their sins and committing their lives to Him. They want shortcuts to salvation, but there aren’t any. Only a contrite and penitent heart will turn Yeshuwa to You and throw off the schemes Satan worked in your life.

What do you need from Yeshuwa? Repent and watch Yeshuwa work in your life. Then you will rejoice in your salvation when you see His righteousness, mercy, and truth work in your life.

Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for wanting Your help without repenting of my sins. Remind me of what You did for me as I remember how You helped me in the past. Revive my spirit and show me the path of Your salvation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
