Day 185 – Provision
Psalm 86:1 (A Prayer of David) Bow down Your ear, O JEHOVAH, hear me; for I am poor and needy. 2 Preserve my life, for I am holy; You are my Elohiym; save Your servant who trusts in You! 3 Be merciful to me, O Adonay, for I cry to You throughout the day. 4 Rejoice the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Adonay, I lift my soul. 5 For You, Adonay, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to everyone who call upon You. 6 Give ear, O JEHOVAH, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. 7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me.
8 Among the elohiym there is none like You, O Adonay; nor are there any works like Your works. 9 Nations whom You made will come and worship before You, O Adonay, and will glorify Your name. 10 For You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are Elohiym. 11 Teach me Your way, O JEHOVAH; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. 12 I will praise You, O Adonay my Elohiym, with my entire heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. 13 For great is Your mercy toward me, and You delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. 14 O Elohiym, the proud rise against me, and a mob of violent men sought my life, and do not set You before them. 15 However, You, O Adonay, are an El full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. 16 Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your maidservant. 17 Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, JEHOVAH, helped me and comforted me.

Who do you turn to when you need help and you feel like everyone is against you?
David looked to Adonay for help. He knew the nations served false elohiym and did not fear Him. However, he knew where his strength came from, and knew Elohiym delivered him from Sheol. He knew Adonay’s abundant mercy and compassion. No one else could do for him what Adonay could do for him.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Adonay, you learned you could depend on Him when Satan came against you to destroy you. Yet many Christians do not turn to Him. They look for help from others who cannot do for them what Yeshuwa can. Only when they exhausted every avenue for help do they remember to pray to Yeshuwa for help.
Why do Christians go to Yeshuwa as a last resort instead of going to Him first? When you realize Yeshuwa is your first defense against Satan, and only He can help you, then you pray and seek His face.
Yeshuwa told the people to seek the kingdom of Theos first and then they would have everything they desired.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of Theos and His righteousness, and everything will be added to you.
What everything did Yeshuwa refer to? Everything you need for your daily life—food, clothes, shelter. He had just given the people the parable about their daily needs. When you seek Yeshuwa first, He will give you everything you need.
Philippians 4:19 My Theos will supply everything you need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.
David knew Adonay could help him in ways no one else could. Do you know Yeshuwa will help you when no one else will? Trust Him today to take care of you and give Him praise.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for supplying me with everything I need. Help me to go to You first and not as a last resort. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
