Day 190 – Safety
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of Elyown will abide under the shadow of Shadday. 2 I will say of JEHOVAH, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my Elohiym, in Him I will trust.” 3 He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will take refuge; His truth will be your shield and buckler. 5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes will you look and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you made JEHOVAH, who is my refuge, even Elyown, your dwelling place, 10 no evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your dwelling; 11 for He will give His angels charge over you, to keep you in your ways. 12 In their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. 14 “Because he set his love upon Me, therefore, I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knew My name. 15 He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

How often do you feel secure in the face of trouble? What do you do to make yourself secure?
The psalmist knew where to turn when his enemies came against him. He found safety in Elohiym, his Elyown. In Elyown he had refuge and protection. Shadday was a mighty fortress that surrounded him and kept him safe. Nothing could harm him when he put his trust in JEHOVAH.
Many Christians know this psalm and can recite it from memory. It brings them comfort when Satan comes against them to kill, steal, and destroy their lives. Does this psalm bring you comfort too? When Satan comes against you, do you run to Yeshuwa for safety because you know He is your Salvation?
What does Yeshuwa promise to do for you when Satan comes against you?
- He hides you under His feathers. As a hen protects her chicks from harm under her wings, Yeshuwa will protect you from Satan when he comes against you.
- He will deliver you from the fowler’s snare. Satan lays schemes, temptations, against you to entrap you. However, when you trust in Yeshuwa to protect you, he cannot harm you.
- He delivers you from pestilence. Another of Satan’s schemes is to try to kill you with disease. When Yeshuwa hung on the cross, His stripes cured every wound and disease. Satan can do nothing to you unless you let him. Don’t let him.
- His truth is your shield and buckler. When you spend time in Yeshuwa’s Word, it becomes your shield and buckler. His truth keeps you safe and sets you free.
- You have nothing to fear. Yeshuwa is your salvation, your hiding place, everything you need to keep you safe. You only need to trust Him. No matter how many times Satan comes against you, Yeshuwa will keep you safe.
- No evil will befall you or plague come near your home. Everyone in your home will know peace and safety because you trust Yeshuwa to put a hedge of protection around your loved ones.
- He gives His angels charge over you. Yeshuwa places His angels to walk beside you and give you added protection from Satan’s schemes.
- You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample them under your feet. When you stand firm on Yeshuwa’s Word, having hidden it in your heart for those times when Satan comes against you, nothing will harm you.
- He will deliver you because you know Him. When you stand strong in Yeshuwa, Satan will flee from you because nothing he does to bring harm to you will come to fruition.
- Yeshuwa answers your prayers. You might not see the answer right away, but He will answer every prayer you pray to Him to keep you safe from every lie and temptation Satan brings against you.
- You have nothing to fear. Satan can’t do anything to you that you don’t allow. Don’t allow him access to your life.
Yeshuwa knows who belongs to Him and will protect them when they pray because they hide His Word in their hearts.
Isaiah 53:5 He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV)
John 8:32 “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Job 1:9 Then Satan answered JEHOVAH and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around everything he has on every side? You blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions increased in the land.
Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!
James 4:7 Therefore, submit to Theos. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
When you read, study, believe, and pray, Satan doesn’t stand a chance against you because you stand strong in the armor of Theos.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in Kurios and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above everything, taking the shield of faith with which you can quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Theos; 18 praying always with every prayer and supplication in the Pneuma, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You have everything you need. Let Yeshuwa’s Word fill your life so that Satan can’t do anything but flee from you.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word live in my heart and in my life so Satan can’t do anything to me. Let Your Word be my hiding place, my refuge and fortress against every scheme Satan devises against me because I trust in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
