Day 196 – Rejoice

Psalm 97:1 JEHOVAH reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad! 2 Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. 3 A fire goes before Him and burns His enemies round about. 4 His lightning lights the world; the earth sees and trembles. 5 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of JEHOVAH, at the presence of Adown of the whole earth. 6 The heavens declare His righteousness, and the people see His glory. 7 Let everyone be put to shame who serves carved images, who boast of idols. Worship Him, you elohiym.

8 Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice because of Your judgments, O JEHOVAH. 9 For You, JEHOVAH, are most high above the earth; You are exalted far above every elohiym. 10 You who love JEHOVAH, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. 12 Rejoice in JEHOVAH, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Adown – Sovereign Lord

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Melek – King

God’s character:

Ruler

Righteous

Just

Glory

Exalted

Deliverer

Holy

In the world today, no one rejoices at their leadership. People find fault with legislation, and everything their leader does is under intense scrutiny.

The psalmist looked past the current king, and his circumstances to the true ruler of Israel, JEHOVAH. He rejoiced in Him and told the world to rejoice in Him also. The psalmist told the people their false elohiym would put them to shame. The earth rejoiced at the presence of JEHOVAH. He caused lightning to light the sky and the earth to tremble. Only those who lived righteously before JEHOVAH will see His great power and rejoice in His presence.

You call yourselves Christians. Do you rejoice in Yeshuwa’s presence? Do you see His great glory on earth? Do you exalt Him who reigns forever and ever? Yeshuwa is your sovereign Melek over the entire earth. He punishes the wicked and delivers His saints. You have every reason to rejoice in your salvation. Do you?

Many Christians go through the motions of Christianity. They call themselves Christians, they might go to church. They sit in the chairs or pews next to you, but their heart and thoughts are far from worship. It’s no more than routine, something they always do. Yet on the home front, they don’t pray, read their Bible, or spend any quality time with Yeshuwa. Their thoughts are consumed with their jobs, recreation, family, but not with Yeshuwa.

What would the church look like if every Christian rejoiced daily in their salvation, looked forward to spending time in church to hear what Yeshuwa spoke to their pastor or priest, lived their lives holy unto Yeshuwa?

Satan isn’t afraid of the church because the church doesn’t live in holy fear of Yeshuwa. However, if you rejoiced as the psalmist did, you would shake the gates of hell. You would cause demons to tremble. Satan couldn’t stand in your presence because Yeshuwa rules over your life. He would flee from you because the blood of Yeshuwa covers you and you rejoice in Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Will you rejoice in Yeshuwa today? Will you serve Him with gladness and come into His courts with praise? Will you bless His name and give Him honor and glory? Rejoice! Yeshuwa is coming soon. Are you ready?

Let’s pray: Father, put Your holy fear in my heart and life. Let me not go through the motions but fix my heart on serving you and rejoicing in my salvation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
