Day 197 – Praise

Psalm 98:1 (A Psalm.) Oh, sing to JEHOVAH a new song! For He did marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm gained Him the victory. 2 JEHOVAH made known His salvation; His righteousness He revealed in the sight of the nations. 3 He remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; the ends of the earth saw the salvation of our Elohiym.

4 Shout with joy to JEHOVAH, throughout the earth; break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. 5 Sing to JEHOVAH with the harp, with the harp and the sound of a psalm, 6 with trumpets and the sound of a horn; shout with joy before JEHOVAH, the Melek. 7 Let the sea roar, and its entire fullness, the world and those who dwell in it; 8 let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills be joyful together 9 before JEHOVAH, for He comes to judge the earth. With righteousness He will judge the world, and the people with equity.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Melek – King

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Salvation

Righteous

Mercy

Faithful

Judge

Just

Do you know people who don’t hide what they do or who they are from anyone? Most people hide behind a façade of actions and smiles.

The psalmist told the people JEHOVAH did everything in the open. He showed His faithfulness and mercy to Israel. Even the seas roared at His presence.

As Christians, you know Yeshuwa’s faithfulness and mercy. You know He won’t let wickedness slide but judges the world with justice and righteousness. Therefore, you should shout, sing praises, and rejoice with musical instruments. There is no one like our Melek who reigns eternally in heaven and sees the hearts of His people.

When was the last time you shouted praise to Yeshuwa with total joy for everything He did for you? Too often we sing praise in church without thinking about the life-changing words to the songs. Our minds are on other things. The next time you sing praise to Yeshuwa, rejoice with abandon because He changed your life and made you brand new. He changed your eternal destination from hell to heaven, broke Satan’s chains from your life and gave you a reason to shout for joy with the entire earth.

The earth knows how to praise Yeshuwa. The hills clap their hands and the hills are joyful. If the rocks can cry out, what’s holding you back from giving Him joyful praise? Satan doesn’t expect you to praise Yeshuwa with abandon. Prove him wrong today and watch him flee from you because of your praise.

Let’s pray: Father, let my praise come before You with joy for everything You do for me. Let me worship You in fullness and shout Your praise to the heavens because You saved me, washed me clean in Your blood and changed my eternal destination from hell to heaven. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
