Day 198 – Holy

Psalm 99:1 JEHOVAH reigns; let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; let the earth be moved! 2 JEHOVAH is great in Zion, and He is high above the people. 3 Let them praise Your great and awesome name—He is holy. 4 The king’s strength also loves justice; You established equity; You executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. 5 Exalt JEHOVAH our Elohiym, and worship at His footstool—He is holy.

 6 Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; they called upon JEHOVAH, and He answered them. 7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; they kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them. 8 You answered them, O JEHOVAH our Elohiym; You were to them El-Nasa (naw-saw), though You took vengeance on their deeds. 9 Exalt JEHOVAH our Elohiym, and worship at His holy hill; for JEHOVAH our Elohiym is holy.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

El-Nasa – He-Who-Forgives

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Holy

Just

Righteous

Vengeance

People run after celebrities, exalting them, worshiping them, hanging on everything they say, do, and mimicking clothing and hair styles. Celebrities can do no wrong, at least until they’re caught, and people select another celebrity to run after.

The psalmist praised JEHOVAH, who alone is worthy of praise. At His name people tremble and the earth moves. JEHOVAH is just and fair in His dealings. He is holy. In the wilderness He spoke to Moses and Aaron through the cloudy pillar. He spoke to Samuel through His ordinances. They saw Him take vengeance on His enemies. He alone is exalted above the heavens and worshiped because He alone is holy.

When you accepted Yeshuwa, JEHOVAH’S Son, as Savior and Lord, you promised to exalt Him, worship, Him, and obey Him in everything. However, many Christians run after their celebrity idols also. They hang on celebrity televangelists, they quote what they say as gospel. They do the same for evangelists as people in the world do with celebrities. Televangelists aren’t Elohiym. They are His servants, just as you are His servants. Christians who run after evangelists forget to open their Bibles and read for themselves what Yeshuwa’s Word says. Only when you open your Bibles and read Yeshuwa’s Word will you know that what evangelists say is true or not. Yeshuwa’s Word first. It’s the only way you will know the truth that sets you free. Remember, He is the only Elohiym who is holy, just, and righteous; Yeshuwa, Elohiym’s Son.

Let’s pray: Father, You alone are holy and You made me holy, set apart for Your glory when I accepted You as Savior and Lord. Give me a discerning ear when Your servants speak, so I will know the truth about what they preach and glorify You as KING of Kings and LORD of Lords. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
