I have many goals in my life. Each one takes planning and discipline.
My first goal is my life as a Christian. I set my goal to start each day in Bible study and prayer. I start each week by going to church and enjoying the fellowship of other believers. I also attend Bible studies during the week. I have one on Tuesday morning at a friend’s church. I also attend one in the complex twice a month, the second and fourth Wednesday. I end each day with a short study from a Bible reading plan on You Version, an app on my phone.
My second goal is that of an author. My goal is to write every day. It doesn’t always work out that way. Life gets in the way. With my current life activities, I plan to sit and write twice a week. More if I’m able.
Another goal I have is to lose weight. I spend each day walking. My current goal set on my pedometer app and Google Fit is 6000 steps. The insurance get moving goal is 5000 steps per day. Not a problem. I either get those steps walking a trail close to me, or walking the hallways in my complex if the weather isn’t good. Today, I’ll walk the trail. I also have a gym membership so I can enjoy laps in the pool. That one is more difficult to accomplish as my friend who takes me, doesn’t have permission from her doctor yet to return to the pool since her knee replacement last November. My lack of transportation keeps me home and walking the trail. Losing weight also includes eating healthy. Without a proper diet and exercise I won’t lose weight. It needs lots of discipline to eat healthy and exercise.
My fourth goal is to be socially active. People need to get out and enjoy other people’s company. I do that with Bible study, rock painting on Wednesdays, Canasta on Thursdays, and attending church. I’m also virtually active when I spend time here with you reading and learning about what you’re doing in your part of the world. Being socially connected virtually is also important and needs goal planning.
As you can see, my week is full and all of it needs planning in one form or another.
What goals do you have? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. One of my many painted rocks.
