Day 212 – Praise

Psalm 113:1 Praise YAHH! Praise, O servants of JEHOVAH, Praise the name of JEHOVAH! 2 Blessed be the name of JEHOVAH from this time forth and forevermore! 3 From the rising of the sun to its going down JEHOVAH’S name is to be praised. 4 JEHOVAH is high above the nations, His glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like JEHOVAH our Elohiym, who dwells on high, 6 who humbles Himself to behold the things in the heavens and in the earth? 7 He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, 8 that He may seat him with princes—with the princes of His people. 9 He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children. Praise YAHH!

God’s names:

YAHH – Sacred name, Jah the Lord

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Humble

Glory

Exalted

People praise others who achieve great accomplishments. They sing their accolades. They make their names great until everyone knows them.

The psalmist wanted everyone to know what JEHOVAH did for the people. He told the people how great JEHOVAH was and why they should praise Him because no one was as great as JEHOVAH. He lifted people from the dust and seated them with princes. He made the barren woman a mother. His glory was above heaven and earth. He humbled Himself to see everything in heaven and earth. His name was to be praised.

As Christians, you should praise Yeshuwa who humbled Himself and became like you. He lifted you from the dust and gave you a place of honor in His kingdom. He knows everything about you and takes care of your needs. No one is as great as Yeshuwa who died for you so you could live with Him forever.

When was the last time you praised Yeshuwa for everything He provided for you? Too often people look at their circumstances and sing the oh woe is me blues. They don’t realize how much Yeshuwa does for them every day, so that instead of singing the blues, you should be singing His praises.

Praise Yeshuwa. Join the psalmist and shout His praises throughout the earth. Let everyone know what He did for you.

Let’s pray: Father, I give You praise for everything You do for me, the many blessings in my life, and how You provide for me. Let my praise come into Your throne room to join with the heavenly host and praise Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
