Day 213 – God’s Sovereignty
Psalm 114:1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, 2 Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. 3 The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs. 5 What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back? 6 O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O little hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of Adown, at the presence of the Elowahh of Jacob, 8 who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
God’s names:
Adown – Sovereign
Elowahh – Deity, God
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Sovereign
What causes you to pause and take notice of something extraordinary?
The psalmist noticed how the earth reacted to Adown’s presence. The earth trembled and fled from His presence because Elowahh showed His mighty power when He turned the rock into a pool of water and flint into a fountain of waters.
As Christians, you should stop and appreciate the earth’s beauty and praise Yeshuwa for His creation and sovereignty over the earth. For several years now, I’ve had landscapes from around the world open on my computer. I am always awed by the total majesty of Yeshuwa’s creation and His presence on the earth. You can’t call what He created, evolution. It’s not possible. His power and majesty are in every rolling landscape, mountain, river, ocean, plain, and person. People take holidays and vacations to see the wonders of the world they live in.
If the world can take notice of Adown and worship Him, you, His creation can do the same thing. Worship and bow down to Him, praise Him for everything He created and everything He does in you. Let the world know that He alone is Elowahh. No one else. He deserves honor, glory, and majesty. Give Him praise.
Let’s pray: Creator God, Almighty Father, Lord of creation, I bow myself before You and give You praise. You formed me, created me for worship, and chose me as Your child. Let my praise and worship come before You every day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
