Day 214 – Trust

Psalm 115:1 Not unto us, O JEHOVAH, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth. 2 Why should the Gentiles say, “So where is their Elohiym?” 3 However, our Elohiym is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. 4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. 5 They have mouths, but they do not speak; eyes they have, but they do not see; 6 they have ears, but they do not hear; noses they have, but they do not smell; 7 they have hands, but they do not handle; feet they have, but they do not walk; nor do they mutter through their throat. 8 Those who make them are like them; so is everyone who trusts in them.

9 O Israel, trust in JEHOVAH; He is their help and their shield. 10 O house of Aaron, trust in JEHOVAH; He is their help and their shield. 11 You who fear JEHOVAH, trust in JEHOVAH; He is their help and their shield. 12 JEHOVAH has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. 13 He will bless those who fear JEHOVAH, both small and great. 14 May JEHOVAH increase you more and more, you and your children. 15 May you be blessed by JEHOVAH, who made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are JEHOVAH’S; but the earth He gave to the children of men. 17 The dead do not praise YAHH, nor any who go down into silence. 18 However, we will bless YAHH from this time forth and forevermore. Praise YAHH!

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

YAHH – Sacred name, Jah the Lord

Elohiym – Supreme God

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Mercy

Who do you trust? Do you trust someone you can see and touch or do you trust someone who is available?

Throughout the earth you will find statues to elohiym who can do nothing but sit in the place people placed them. Many people place their faith and trust in those elohiym who cannot help them.

The psalmist told the people to put their trust in JEHOVAH who alone can help them and deserves their praise. Every other elohiym can do nothing for them. They cannot hear, walk, talk, or see. Yet people put their faith and trust in them. Those people are like the elohiym they make.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you gave up your false elohiym for the true and living Elohiym who alone sent His Son to die on the cross to save you from your sin. Yeshuwa hears you when you pray and praise Him. He sees you when you spend time with Him in Bible study and prayer. He walks beside you and keeps you safe from every attack from Satan who intends to kill, steal, and destroy your life.

With everything Yeshuwa does for you daily, praise should be in your mouth and in your heart every moment of the day. Praise Him and give Him thanks for giving you one more day to praise Him, one more day to see His blessings in your life, one more day to tell someone what He did for them on the cross. Yeshuwa is your help and shield against Satan. Give Him praise!

Let’s pray: Father, You alone are my help and shield. Let my praise come before You always and bless Your name because You are my God, my Deliverer, my Redeemer, my Savior. Bless me because I trust You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
