When it comes to names, people give much thought to what to name their child. My name, Valerie comes from Latin. It means bold, strong, valiant. Jean comes from Scottish and means God is gracious. With a name like that, how could I be anything but who I am?

I don’t know how my parents gave me this name or why. However, what I see about my name in my life is that God knew what my name would be and I live up to it.

My life before I accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord was anything but what it means. I was an introvert, a loner, and depended only on myself. The day I accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, I became bold for Him, strong for Him, and I hope I live my life gracious before Him. As for valiant, I hope so.
