Day 221 – Prayer
Psalm 119:25 DALETH. My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.
26 I declared my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes. 27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so, will I meditate on Your wondrous works.
28 My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your word. 29 Remove from me the way of lying and grant me Your law graciously.
30 I chose the way of truth; Your judgments I laid before me. 31 I cling to Your testimonies; O JEHOVAH, do not put me to shame! 32 I will run the course of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Teacher
Strength
Grace
Truth
What is your heart’s desire? What do you long for that would make your heart glad?
The psalmist wanted JEHOVAH to teach him His law, statutes, and testimonies to find strength in Him. He recognized his sin of lying and wanted JEHOVAH to remove it from him and enlarge his heart through the meditation of His Word.
When you came face to face with JEHOVAH and accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you wanted Him to cleanse you from your sins and wash you clean by His Word. You wanted His strength to study and meditate on His Word. You wanted to learn everything you could so you could be obedient to Him in everything He asked of you.
The Word became your teacher, and Scripture your delight. You found the strength you craved as you studied Yeshuwa’s Word.
The psalmist wasn’t a young man. He was a Levite who studied the law and testimony of JEHOVAH. He recognized his sin and asked Him to cleanse him and revive him.
Many Christians who start strong in Yeshuwa when they first acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord, falter in their faith and settle back into their old habits. The psalmist recognized this and asked JEHOVAH to revive him. You must do the same. You must pray and ask Yeshuwa to cleanse you according to His Word, revive your spirit, and enlarge your heart. Only then will Yeshuwa’s Word remain strong in you, and you will know when Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy your faith.
Let’s pray: Father, revive me according to Your Word. Enlarge my heart. Give me a heart to serve You and seek You with my whole heart. Forgive me for falling back into my old habits and restore me to Your service. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
