Day 229 – Settled

Psalm 119:89 LAMED. Forever, O JEHOVAH, Your word is settled in heaven. 90 Your faithfulness endures to every generation; You established the earth, and it abides. 91 They continue this day according to Your ordinances, for every one of them are Your servants.

92 Unless Your law had been my delight, I would then perish in my affliction.

93 I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You gave me life.

94 I am Yours, save me; for I sought Your precepts.

95 The wicked wait for me to destroy me, but I will consider Your testimonies.

96 I saw the consummation of every perfection, but Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Iesous – Jesus

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

God’s character:

Faithful

Savior

Never Changing

What do you know that lasts a lifetime or longer? You see claims on television about people who offer lifetime warranties on various products, from roofs to small appliances. Yet how often do you replace those products with lifetime warranties?

The psalmist said JEHOVAH’S Word was forever settled in heaven. The warranty on JEHOVAH’S Word doesn’t expire. Not only is His Word settled eternally in heaven, but so is His faithfulness.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you learned about His eternal, unchanging nature.

Hebrews 13:8 Iesous Christos is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

You can count on Yeshuwa’s never changing nature. He never broke a promise to His people. Every word in His book is yea and amen. Yet many people distrust His faithfulness, not because they don’t believe Him, but because they cannot trust people and give Him the same nature as those familiar with them.

Christian’s test Yeshuwa’s promises. When they find one promise fulfilled in their life, their faith grows to accept that aspect about Him and then put their faith on the line in other ways He promised to help them until they can trust His faithfulness to never leave them or forsake them.

Christianity is a growth process. Faith doesn’t happen overnight. Especially when you have a background rooted in dishonesty among your peers.

When you sit in church or Bible study and hear testimonies about Yeshuwa’s faithfulness, you want to believe what you hear. You want to believe that the same Yeshuwa who came through for fellow Christians is the same Yeshuwa you can count on in everything.

The psalmist said, ‘Forever, O JEHOVAH, Your Word is settled in heaven.’ He could say that because he saw the truth of His Word in every promise given to JEHOVAH’S people.

If you have been a Christian for any length of time, you have seen how Yeshuwa kept His Word and saw your faith grow because of it. His Word is the only guarantee that never expires.

Let’s pray: Father, You know me and how hard it is to believe what I read in Your Word. Grow my faith, Lord. Increase it daily so I can stand with confidence in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
