Day 234 – Delight

Psalm 119:137 TZADDI. You are righteous, O JEHOVAH, and Your judgments are upright. 138 Your testimonies, which You commanded, are righteous and faithful.

139 My zeal consumed me, because my enemies forgot Your words.

140 Your word is pure; therefore, Your servant loves it.

141 I am small and despised, yet I do not forget Your precepts.

142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.

143 Trouble and anguish overtake me, yet Your commandments are my delights. 144 The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; give me understanding, and I will live.

What is the number one thing you want from life? What motivates you to go after what you want?

The psalmist wanted to understand JEHOVAH’S testimonies and commandments. He found JEHOVAH’S faithfulness, righteousness, and truth in His Word. They were his delight and by them he would live.

The psalmist felt small and despised, but it didn’t stop him from pursuing JEHOVAH’S precepts, testimonies, and commandments. He delighted in them.

Many Christians feel unworthy to pursue their goals in their walk with Yeshuwa. They see other Christians as more worthy as they reach their goals. They listen to the sermons and believe what they hear, but Satan keeps them bound by their feelings. It didn’t matter to the psalmist how small he was, he still went after his goal to understand JEHOVAH’S Word. He didn’t let his enemies stop him from his delight in JEHOVAH’S Word. Don’t let Satan stop you from understanding Yeshuwa’s Word. Make it your delight as it was for the psalmist. Pursue it with everything in you. It is through your study of Yeshuwa’s Word that you become strong. Satan knows that and will keep you from what you want most, a strong relationship with Yeshuwa.

You gain strength when you go to church, spend time with other believers studying Yeshuwa’s Word, encouraging one another in their faith and in so doing, building up your faith.

Jude 20 However you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Hagios Pneuma, 21 keep yourselves in the love of Theos, looking for the mercy of our Kurios Iesous Christos unto eternal life.

Don’t let Satan hinder you from your pursuit of Yeshuwa’s Word, to know Him more fully and encouraging other believers as you read and study His Word.

Let’s pray: Father, Your Word is my delight. Encourage me as I read and study Your Word and help me to encourage other believers in their pursuit of You. Let Your Word become living and active in my life as I grow in You more each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
