Day 235 – Revival
Psalm 119:145 KOPH. I cry out with my whole heart; hear me, O JEHOVAH! I will keep Your statutes. 146 I cry out to You; save me, and I will keep Your testimonies.
147 I rise before dawn, and cry for help; I hope in Your word. 148 I am awake through the night watches, that I may meditate on Your word.
149 Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; O JEHOVAH, revive me according to Your justice.
150 They draw near who follow wickedness; they are far from Your law. 151 You are near, O JEHOVAH, and Your commandments are truth.
152 Long ago, I learned You founded Your testimonies to last forever.
God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Loving kindness
Just
Truth
What do you long for with your whole heart? What keeps you awake at night?
The psalmist prayed with his whole heart. He wanted JEHOVAH to hear him and revive him. He placed his hope in JEHOVAH’S Word and vowed to keep His statutes and testimonies.
Do you long for Yeshuwa’s presence in your life as much as the psalmist did? Do you pray through the night and meditate on His Word? Do you see Yeshuwa’s lovingkindness, justice, and truth working in your life? Do you want Yeshuwa’s justice when you see evil in the world?
How do you react to lawlessness? The psalmist spent the night in prayer, meditating on JEHOVAH’S Word. Do you? When you hear about school shootings, and assassinations, does it cause you to fall on your knees and pray? The psalmist prayed. He wanted JEHOVAH to revive him and bring justice to the wicked people who didn’t keep JEHOVAH’S Law. He vowed to meditate on JEHOVAH’S statutes and testimonies. Do you have the same intention when you see wickedness in the world?
Satan has free rein in the world because Christians don’t pray and seek Yeshuwa’s face when he causes evil in the world. When do you take notice of the evil he brings to your life and the lives of your loved ones and friends? What causes you to fall on your knees and meditate on Yeshuwa’s Word throughout the night? Your prayer should be for Yeshuwa to revive you. The psalmist didn’t ask JEHOVAH to revive those around him, but to revive him. Christians want revival, but they don’t pray for it to begin in them.
Revival needs to start in your heart. When you do, you will see Yeshuwa bring justice to your life and the lives of your family and friends. When you pray, others will pray and soon the revival you want to see happen will become a flame and then a roaring fire. It must begin with you, with me. It’s the only way you can defeat Satan and bring lawlessness to an end.
Let’s pray: Father, bring revival to my heart and life. Let me see You bring justice to this lawless world and see Satan defeated. Father, settle Your Word in my heart as I meditate on it. Hear my voice in the night hours. Let my praise come before Your throne, knowing You already defeated Satan, and he has no power over me. Give me a heart of compassion, and I will see Your justice and know that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
