Words make up our lives here on WordPress. For many of us, we work with words as we write our novels, short stories, and poetry. I have a few favorite words, a few of them in the picture above. However, my favorite word would be FORGIVENESS.
Forgiveness is what we all want when we do something wrong unintentionally. Forty-five years ago, I became a born-again Christian and knew what it felt like to be forgiven of everything I ever did wrong, not only in a specific moment, but always and forever.
Forgiveness is also something we can give to each other when we do something to hurt another person and immediately regret it, or they do something to us. A lack of forgiveness can break a friendship, but forgiveness can mend one.
I know I’m not perfect and need forgiveness daily. When I pray and ask Jesus to forgive me, I know He does. There are no strings attached to His forgiveness. He forgives us when we ask, no matter what we did to need forgiveness.
When Jesus died on the cross, He said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” He forgave them for nailing Him to the cross, spitting in His face, pulling out His beard, and beating Him with a whip. If He can do that for those who crucified Him, I can forgive those who ask me to forgive them for what they did to me.
Forgiveness is my favorite word. It makes me right again until the next time I need forgiveness.
What is your favorite word? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
