Day 237 – Praise

Psalm 119:161 SCHIN. Princes persecute me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your word.

162 I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.

163 I hate and abhor lying, but I love Your law.

164 Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments.

165 Those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble.

166 JEHOVAH, I hope for Your salvation, and I do Your commandments.

167 My soul keeps Your testimonies, and I love them exceedingly. 168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, for my ways are before You.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Righteous

Lawmaker

How do you handle unwarranted accusations? Do you ignore them, or stand up for yourself?

The psalmist took the accusations to JEHOVAH. He didn’t plead for His help. The psalmist told Him how those in authority treated him without cause. Then the psalmist told JEHOVAH he would praise Him seven times a day because he loved His law and His righteous judgments. He knew those in authority lied and told JEHOVAH he abhorred lying. However, he loved His law and hoped for His salvation. Not only did he love JEHOVAH’S testimonies, but his soul also loved them.

If you have a strong faith in Yeshuwa, Satan will bring accusations against you. It’s what he does to try to cause you to lose your faith. In response to the accusations, the psalmist praised JEHOVAH. Your response should be the same. Praise causes Satan to flee.

When you spend your time in prayer, Bible study, and praise, Satan cannot attack you. You are like a wall without cracks. He has no way into your life to cause you trouble. However, it won’t stop him from trying to cause you trouble.

Remember Job? Satan complained to JEHOVAH because he couldn’t cause him trouble. JEHOVAH knew Job would not give in to temptation or sin when He gave Satan permission to bring trouble to him. No matter what accusations Job’s friends accused him of, he stood steadfast in his faith. No matter what Satan did to him, he could not shake Job’s faith in JEHOVAH.

When you stand strong in your faith, no matter what Satan tries, he won’t shake your faith because it’s founded on the Rock of your Salvation, Yeshuwa. Praise Him, spend time with Him in Bible study and prayer and watch Satan flee from you. Your accusers will leave you in peace.

What does your life look like? Does it look like a barrage of trouble and accusations coming at you from every direction? Praise Yeshuwa. Your enemy can’t touch you, no matter what he does to shake your faith.

If you don’t have unshakeable faith, pray and ask Yeshuwa to strengthen your faith, spend time in Bible study, and praise Him at every opportunity. When you do, you will build your faith and see Satan flee from you.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for unshakeable faith. When Satan comes against me, let my praise come before You as sweet incense. Fill me with Your presence as I come before You in praise. Let Your Word sink into my soul and rise against every accusation Satan brings against me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
