Day 240 – Help
Psalm 121:1 (A Song of Ascents.) I will lift my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from JEHOVAH, who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 JEHOVAH is your keeper; JEHOVAH is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 JEHOVAH will preserve you from every evil; He will preserve your soul. 8 JEHOVAH will preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Help
Keeper
Shade at your right hand
Preserver
Who do you trust for help, friends, neighbors, family? How often do they help you?
The psalmist trusted JEHOVAH to help him in times of trouble. He even said JEHOVAH would help him day and night. He would protect him from harm and preserve him from evil.
Who do you know who can do what JEHOVAH can? When you accepted Yeshuwa, His Son, as Savior and Lord, you found the only person you could trust to help you in every situation. He will bring help from places you didn’t expect.
When do you turn to Yeshuwa for help? Is it when you exhausted every avenue and found no one available? Or is it when you find yourself in a situation only Yeshuwa can help you with? Or do you turn to Him in every situation, not only the ones you know He can help with, or the ones no one could help with? You have three options, but only one will always help when you ask Him. He will protect you from evil, preserve your soul, and is the shade on your right hand. No one else will do what only He can.
What do you need help with? Ask Him.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (NKJV)
You only need to ask.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for reminding me to turn to You first when I need help no matter what time of the day or night I need it. Help me trust in Your promises to come to my aid when I pray to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
