Day 241 – Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 122:1 (A Song of Ascents. Of David.) I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of JEHOVAH.” 2 Our feet stand within your gates, O Jerusalem! 3 Jerusalem is built as a city compact together, 4 where the tribes go up, the tribes of YAHH, to the Testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of JEHOVAH. 5 For thrones are set there for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. 7 Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.” 8 For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.” 9 Because of the house of JEHOVAH our Elohiym I will seek your good.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

YAHH – Jah, the sacred name, Jah the Lord

Elohiym – Supreme God

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Peace

What makes you glad? Do you pursue your desire? Many people go after what makes them glad or happy, only to find happiness eludes them.

David knew what made him glad, going to the house of JEHOVAH. Inside her walls he found peace and prayed for peace, the peace only JEHOVAH could give him. Within those walls he knew peace and prosperity would only come to those who prayed for Jerusalem’s peace.

Do you pray for peace in Jerusalem? Do you pray for peace in Israel? Do you pray for Elohiym’s chosen people? When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you committed yourself to the peace and prosperity of His people. When you pray for Israel’s peace, you bring prosperity to yourself. It’s JEHOVAH’S promise to everyone who prays for her peace.

Yeshuwa prayed for Jerusalem. He wept for her. He wanted to gather His people to Him, but they wouldn’t let Him.

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! (NKJV)

Do you weep and pray for Jerusalem? When you see the violence taking place in Israel, do you pray for her peace and an end to the war in Israel?

God never abandoned His people. He continues to ask you to pray for her peace.

Does it make you glad to go to church, sing Yeshuwa’s praises, and gather with other believers in prayer? When you gather with other believers, do you pray for peace in Israel?

David was glad when they asked him to go to JEHOVAH’S house. It was in JEHOVAH’S house he found peace and prosperity for his soul.

When you pray for Jerusalem’s peace, your soul will know prosperity.

Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for not praying for peace in Jerusalem and Israel. You never abandoned Your people. Let me remember to pray for Your people and for her peace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
