Daily writing prompt
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve gotten didn’t come from one place, but many, so I can’t pinpoint who said it first. However, the best advice I’ve been given is never give up.

When it came to anything that meant something to me, someone always told me never give up.

Even when someone gives you negative statements, it’s a way of telling you not to give up, but to pursue your goals. The first time that happened was when I was still in grade school. My mother told me I would never do better than what I did when she saw my report card. It was the motivation I needed to never give up and prove that I could do better, and I did.

When I went to college, my lab teacher told me I could do the work. Math was never an easy subject for me, but there I was doing all the ometries and algebra. Praise God they don’t require calculus in architecture. If they do, it wasn’t required in my courses. I graduated from college .4 from honors. I didn’t give up.

When it comes to my writing, many people have encouraged me and told me they enjoy, even love my stories. It gives me the necessary motivation to keep going and not give up on the one thing I love most in my life.

I serve a wonderful God who never gives up on me. Why would I give up on myself when the God of the universe believes in me? It’s not going to happen.

What is the best advice you’ve been given? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I’ve always liked the saying, “never give up!”
