Day 247 – Blessings

Psalm 128:1 (A Song of Ascents.) Blessed is everyone who fears JEHOVAH, who walks in His ways. 2 When you eat the labor of your hands, you will be happy, and it will be well with you. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants around your table. 4 Behold, thus will the man be blessed who fears JEHOVAH. 5 JEHOVAH bless you out of Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem every day of your life. 6 Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Iesous – Jesus

Theos – Supreme Divinity

Huios of Anthropos – Son of Man

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

God’s character:

Blesser

Many people look like they have everything they could ever want or need. They have the best of everything, and people cater to them wherever they go and whatever they do. Then there are people who seem to have nothing, but their happiness far surpasses the person who looks like they have everything. What’s the difference?

The psalmist said everyone who feared, reverenced, JEHOVAH, would see His blessings in every area of their life.

Many Christians look at people who seem to have everything and wonder why they live in lack. They envy everything wealthy people have, not realizing they have more with Yeshuwa than a wealthy person will ever attain without Him.

Iesous told the disciples the difference between them and rich people.

Matthew 19:23 Then Iesous said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

26 However, Iesous looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with Theos everything is possible.”

27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we left everything and followed You. Therefore, what will we have?”

28 Iesous said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Huios of Anthropos sits on the throne of His glory, you who followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 Everyone who left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30 However, many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Nothing in this world compares to what you receive as a believer in Iesous Christos. When wealthy men die without Yeshuwa, they receive the true reward for their rejection of Him, separation from Him for eternity. However, you who believe, receive blessings in this life plus eternal life with Him when you die.

Don’t let looks deceive you or become envious of what others have because you have more than they ever will if they don’t acknowledge Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord.

Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for looking at the outer appearance of wealthy people and not at what I have with You as my Savior and Lord. Let me count my blessings every day and praise You for everything You give me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
