What brands do you associate with?

We all have them. Those brands we reach for because they proved their worth, whether it’s the stores brand or a famous one. You know it works the way you want and need it to.

There are some things I refuse to buy cheap. Those brands don’t work or work long enough and you’re out the door for more – batteries. I use Energizer. I find Duracell doesn’t last as long as they claim and cheap ones don’t last at all. When it comes to soap, I needed to go to the least expensive brand – Suave. None of the other brands worked for me. I have soap sensitivities and Suave was the only one that worked. The same with dish soap. They discontinued the only one I wasn’t allergic to, so I need to depend on the one I can tolerate – Palmolive. Food – I don’t go with brands. I find the store brand is just as good as the more expensive brand. However, there I also need to be careful. Food allergies and intolerance keep me reading labels. Gluten free is my life. I know what to expect when I eat anything with gluten and prefer not to go through it unnecessarily. I look for gluten free pasta and bread. It’s more expensive, but it works for me. In recent years I started a sugar free lifestyle. Not because I needed to, but because I wanted to cut down on the amount of sugar I consumed. I started drinking unsweetened milk – Oatmilk is great and only 40 calories per cup. Regular milk has 120 calories. I also needed to get rid of salt in my diet. I know you need a certain amount of sodium to maintain a healthy body. I cut out all processed food. My life is so much better without all that sodium. Mrs. Dash is a great alternative to salt.

Whether it’s the food I eat or the products that make life easier, I’ve found what works for me. I don’t do name brands unless it’s the best option. And that’s the key in my life – the best option, not just because it’s what everyone is wearing or using, but because it works.
