Day 262 – Prayer
Psalm 143:1 (A Psalm of David.) Hear my prayer, O JEHOVAH, give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness. 2 Enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is righteous. 3 For the enemy persecuted my soul; he crushed my life to the ground; He made me dwell in darkness, like those long dead. 4 Therefore, my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is distressed. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. 6 I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah
7 Answer me speedily, O JEHOVAH; my spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit. 8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift my soul to You. 9 Deliver me, O JEHOVAH, from my enemies; in You I take shelter. 10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my Elohiym; Your Ruwach is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. 11 Revive me, O JEHOVAH, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. 12 In Your mercy cut off my enemies and destroy those who afflict my soul; for I am Your servant.

Who do you turn to when people come against you? Where do you find help when people treat you with disrespect?
David turned to JEHOVAH when his enemies came against him. He asked Him to deliver him and shelter him from those who wanted to harm him. David asked JEHOVAH to teach him so he could stay on the right path, and he asked JEHOVAH to destroy his enemies.
Do you turn to Yeshuwa when Satan comes against you or do you turn to other believers with prayer requests or help? Many Christians turn to other believers before they take their problems to Yeshuwa. It’s not wrong to ask for prayer because Yeshuwa hears the prayers of His saints. It is wrong when you rely on other believers to pray, and you don’t.
David turned to JEHOVAH in every circumstance that came against him. He had many enemies. The nations surrounding Israel wanted to destroy her. They still do. David knew the only place he could turn to for help was JEHOVAH. He knew His Ruwach would defeat his enemies.
What do you believe when Satan sends people against you to undermine your faith and try to lead you away from Yeshuwa? Do you accept what Satan does against you as your lot in life, or do you take your authority in Yeshuwa and call on Him to defeat him and cause him to flee from you?
David never backed down in the face of his enemies. You shouldn’t either. When you call on Yeshuwa, Satan will flee. When Satan comes against you, pray first, then ask your prayer warriors to pray with you. When you do, Satan will flee and Yeshuwa will get the glory.
Let’s pray: Father, You know how Satan harasses me daily. Help me pray to You first before I ask for prayer support, knowing You will defeat Satan’s plans against my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
