Day 271 – Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding
Proverbs 2:1 My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, 2 so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift your voice for understanding, 4 if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 then you will understand the fear of JEHOVAH, and find the knowledge of Elohiym. 6 For JEHOVAH gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding; 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; 8 He guards the paths of justice and preserves the way of His saints. 9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.
10 When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, 11 discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, 12 to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, 13 from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 who rejoice in doing evil, and delight in the perversity of the wicked; 15 whose ways are crooked, and who are devious in their paths; 16 to deliver you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words, 17 who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her Elohiym. 18 For her house leads down to death, and her paths to the dead; 19 none who go to her return, nor do they regain the paths of life— 20 so you may walk in the way of goodness and keep to the paths of righteousness. 21 For the upright will dwell in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; 22 however, the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.

What eludes you? What is out of reach? Many people search for a lifetime for things that will make them happy. Yet, when they think they found it, it’s still out of reach.
Solomon told his son to listen to wisdom and apply his heart to understanding and live in the fear (reverence) of JEHOVAH. When he did, then he would find the knowledge of Elohiym. He needed to search for it as one searched for hidden treasure. Then JEHOVAH would give him wisdom, knowledge and understanding to keep him from evil and perverse people who wanted to take him down the path of destruction. The only place destined for those people was separation from Elohiym.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you committed your life to learn everything you could about living a life dedicated to Him. When you do, He will keep you from those who lead you away from the path of life. He will give you wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to guide you through life.
Yeshuwa told His disciples which path would lead to eternal life.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (NKJV)
Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding will guide you through life, and you will know His protection. Solomon said He would be your shield to protect you from Satan’s fiery darts of doubt, denial, and deceit. He will keep you from those whose ways are perverse and lead to destruction.
Are you searching for true happiness in Yeshuwa? Apply your heart to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding and you will find everything Yeshuwa wants to give you.
Let’s pray: Father, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to keep me away from Satan’s schemes against my life, away from people who would turn my eyes from You and onto the world. Give me a discerning heart to know when Satan tries to lead me down the path of destruction and keep me on the path of life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
