Day 279 – Wisdom

Proverbs 10:1 The Proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Pater – Father

God’s character:

Wisdom

Consider the people you know personally. Are they honorable or foolish? Would they make their fathers glad or bring grief to their mothers? You know them. You already know the answer to the question.

Solomon begins his proverbs with a statement about wisdom, fools, gladness, and grief.

Before you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you were foolish in your understanding. Not everything you did was wise, except in your eyes. You spent much time arguing about your wisdom, while those who knew you walked away shaking their heads. Then came the moment of clear understanding and wisdom had a chance in your life when you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord.

Does everything you do fall in the category of wisdom? Or is your understanding still void of knowledge and understanding? There are foolish Christians. They’re the ones who don’t open the Word, spend time in Bible study, and prayer, or go to church. They believe they can do the Christian life without other Christians. They remember seeing them before they accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord and told themselves they wouldn’t be hypocritical in their faith. Yet they are still foolish.

Wisdom opens the Word, spends time with other believers, prays, goes to church, and hungers for whatever Yeshuwa wants to give them. Too many Christians spend their time behind closed doors. They don’t let people in, and they don’t let Yeshuwa in either. They believe if they don’t let people in, then Satan won’t get in. They don’t understand that Satan already lives with them.

You cannot do Christianity alone. You must interact with other believers so you can gain wisdom and not look like a foolish Christian.

Yeshuwa told His disciples to go out into the world to make disciples of the nations. They needed to get out of their comfort zones and get out among the people. When they did, they trampled the gates of Hell and showed everyone what true living was about, and what it meant to be a Christian.

Do your actions show you to be a wise Christian and a joy to your Pater? Or do other believers walk away from you, shaking their heads because you’re a foolish Christian?

Let’s pray: Father, help me show wisdom in everything I do. Help me get out among people and tell them about Your love for them. Let me bring You joy and not grief in my relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
