Day 280 – Obedience
Proverbs 10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death. 3 JEHOVAH will not allow the righteous soul to famish, but He casts away the desire of the wicked.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Theos – Supreme Divinity
Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
Iesous – Jesus
Pater – Father
Kurios – Supreme Authority
God’s character:
Righteous
Two things’ people run after: fame and fortune. They like the status fame brings, everybody knows them, and they can get whatever they want. Their homes are large, they have multiple cars, and a houseful of treasures. They do whatever they please.
Solomon said the treasures of wickedness profit nothing. Everything a wicked person has will vanish along with their soul. However, righteousness will deliver the soul from death. He won’t allow the soul to famish.
Many Christians believe the only thing they need to do is accept Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord and they will be on easy street. Yeshuwa will give them whatever they want. Yeshuwa is not Santa Claus to give you the desires of your heart. You need to live the committed life you said you would when you accepted Him as Savior and Lord.
When you spend time in Bible study, prayer, with other believers, and in church where you can be fed, then Yeshuwa will answer your prayers, and supply you with everything you need in this life.
Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of Theos and His righteousness, and everything will be added to you.
Philippians 4:19 My Theos will supply everything you need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.
Yeshuwa first. When He sees your commitment to Him, then He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:3 Trust in JEHOVAH and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in JEHOVAH, and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to JEHOVAH, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in JEHOVAH and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers will be cut off; but those who wait on JEHOVAH will inherit the earth.
What do you long for? What is your relationship with Yeshuwa like? Are you committed to Him, or do you treat Him as someone who should give you whatever you want because you call yourself His child? Be careful. Yeshuwa said many will call him Kurios, Kurios, but He will reject them and tell them He never knew them.
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Kurios, Kurios,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Pater in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Kurios, Kurios, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’24 Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 However, everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Does Yeshuwa know you?
Let’s pray: Father, forgive me if I have acted foolishly and treated You with disrespect, expecting to receive whatever I want. Give me a heart devoted to You, seeking You first in everything, so I might receive Your blessings. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
