Everyone believes they’re wise, that they know what they’re doing and how to go about it. They also believe they know foolish people but never consider they’re among their number.
Solomon was a wise king who knew JEHOVAH’S commandments and lived according to them until he started worshiping the false elohiym his wives worshiped. His father, David, taught him the ways of Elohiym, to worship Him alone. Therefore, he knew it was wise to receive JEHOVAH’S commands and obey them. Only those who didn’t were foolish.
Many Christians went to Sunday School and church from a young age, they knew the Bible, and that they should obey Yeshuwa. However, before they committed their lives to Him, they wandered in the world as fools, doing what they wanted without thinking about how it affected their souls or others. Only when they realized what they were doing to their souls, did they commit their lives to Yeshuwa to walk in His ways and not the ways of the world.
Many Christians never went to church or Sunday school as children or had parents who went to church. They knew nothing about Yeshuwa or the Bible and scoffed at those who did. It wasn’t until they listened to what a Christian said that they realized the depth of their sin and turned to Yeshuwa as their Savior and Lord. They realized they were among the foolish on their way to Hell if they didn’t change their lives.
Which type of Christian do you fall into, the one who grew up in church and wandered from Yeshuwa, or the one who lived in the world without knowledge about Yeshuwa until you listened to what someone told you?
Since you became a Christian, committing yourself to Yeshuwa to obey Him in everything, what has your life been like? Do you still obey Him, or do you wander in the world, believing you can do what you want without it affecting your salvation? Solomon called those people prating fools, destined for a fall. He should know. He knew he was one of them.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now your Bara in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”:
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohiym and keep His commandments, for this is man’s everything. 14 For Elohiym will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Solomon remembered Elohiym at the end of his life and returned to Him. He was the wisest man who lived, but even he fell into the ways of the world. He knew that if he hadn’t returned to JEHOVAH, his Bara, his end would be destruction.
Nobody wants to go to Hell, to find themselves separated from Yeshuwa for eternity. Therefore, it’s wise to obey Yeshuwa and live according to His Word.
Let’s pray: Father, I want to live my life in obedience to Your Word. Keep me in the hollow of Your hand and my feet from stumbling in the world away from You. Then I will know Your will for my life, and I will walk in Your ways not mine. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 31 October 2025 by Valerie Routhieaux
