Day 288 – Words

Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

Kurios – Supreme Authority

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

God’s character:

Righteous

Strength

Redeemer

People say whatever they want, regardless of how it hurts the person they’re talking to. They give no thought to their words. However, people with understanding and compassion will think before they speak.

David said he wanted the words he spoke to be acceptable to Elohiym.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O JEHOVAH, my strength and my Redeemer.

Solomon listened to his father’s instructions and applied them to the proverbs he gave the people so they would have a better understanding of how to act toward others in everything they said and did.

Many Christians brought the world with them when they accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Kurios. They didn’t bother to change their speech to make it acceptable not only to Yeshuwa, but also to other Christians.

Christians need to act like the Christian they say they are in everything they do and speak. They are ambassadors for Christos. However, when they open their mouths, the only ambassador they sound like are ambassadors for Satan.

Solomon said the words of the righteous are a wellspring of life. Do you pay attention to the words you speak? Do you lift others up with your words or tear them down?

Do people know you’re a Christian by the words you speak? Or has the world crept into your words? People know you by the words you speak. Let your words not only be acceptable to the people you associate with, but also to Yeshuwa. Then they will be a wellspring of life to everyone you meet.

Let’s pray: Father, let my prayer be the same as David’s when he said to let his words be acceptable to You. Let me be aware of the words I speak and let them go down into my soul as a life-giving fountain and give hope and life to everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
