Day 292 – Wealth
Proverbs 10:15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Elohiym – Supreme God
Theos – Supreme Divinity
God’s character:
Provider
You don’t think about wealthy people being impoverished. Yet, how they treat people can bring about their destruction.
Solomon was the wealthiest man in Israel. His wealth opened doors, but he also knew it could also close them if he mistreated people. He knew JEHOVAH listened to the cries of the poor and defended them.
Proverbs 14:31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.
Mature Christians know their wealth doesn’t come from how much they have in the bank as many Christians are poor. They also know wealthy people are among the poorest people on earth not because of what they have in the bank, but by how they treat people.
Elohiym looks at the heart of the individual. If their heart pleases Him, they have more wealth than the richest person. When the wealthiest person dishonors Elohiym, he impoverishes his soul.
When you honor Yeshuwa with your life, it doesn’t matter what you have in the bank, you’re rich toward Theos. He will bless you beyond measure. When you give to the poor and needy, Yeshuwa will bless you. However, when you withhold what you can give to the poor and needy, Yeshuwa will take even what you have from you.
Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (NKJV)
Luke 16:19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 However, there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 Then it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 Being in torments in Hades, he lifted his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 However, Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
Your wealth isn’t dependent on your bank account, it’s dependent on what you do for others.
Let’s pray: Father, give me a compassionate heart for those in need. Bless me as I bless others with what You give me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 7 November 2025 by Valerie Routhieaux
