Day 295 – Words
Proverbs 10:18 Whoever hides hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is worth little. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of wisdom.
God’s name:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Wisdom
Hatred is like cancer eating at the soul of a person. It causes pain and suffering for everyone they meet. Everything they say is laced with deceit and malice. They don’t know how to tell the truth, and wisdom is far from them. Wisdom, however, is found on the tongue of the righteous. Everything they say and do brings health to the soul. Death is in the mouth of fools.
Solomon dealt with people every day as the king of Israel. He knew deceit when he heard it and judged the heart of the individual based on their words and actions.
What do your words and actions tell other Christians about you? Christians need to set an example to those around them about how they should act and the words they speak.
Yeshuwa told the people they were to love others in everything they said and did. When they did, people would know they belonged to Him. Do people know you’re a Christian? Or do your words and actions give them proof of a deceitful life?
Let Yeshuwa guide your words and your life, and you will feed many with the choice words that come from a heart devoted to Yeshuwa.
Let’s pray: Father, fill my mouth with Your words. Let them sink deep into my soul and spring up into the lives of those I meet. Let Your words bring health and healing to my life and those around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
