Day 297 – Wisdom

Proverbs 10:23 To do evil is like sport to a fool, but a man of understanding has wisdom.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Kurios – Supreme Authority

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

God’s character:

Wisdom

Understanding

Can you name your school clowns, the ones who thought it was funny to break the rules. Do you know where they are today, or did they simply vanish from sight?

Solomon said evil was like a sport to fools. I don’t know how much practice you need to play a fool or treat evil like a sport. I know you don’t need to practice being bad. It comes naturally to everyone before they understand right and wrong.

What kind of person were you before you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Kurios? Did people see you as foolish, lacking wisdom and understanding? Or were you one of those who stayed away from trouble as much as you could? Did the board of education applied to the seat of knowledge drive your foolishness from you? For Baby Boomers, discipline was firm and sometimes painful, but you learned from it. At least I did.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Kurios, you committed your life to obedience, putting away your foolishness and taking on the mantle of wisdom and understanding. You no longer see the funny side of evil. Instead, you saw how damaging it is and changed your life to look like a child of Yeshuwa.

Paul, when speaking about love, spoke about childish behavior and that as adults you need to put away foolish tendencies.

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (NKJV)

When you became a Christian, you needed to put away the foolishness of the world and embrace Yeshuwa’s love in everything you said and did.

Do people see you as an ambassador of Christos, displaying His love with understanding and wisdom? Or do your foolish ways still cling to you?

Let’s pray: Father, take this foolish heart and give me a heart of wisdom and understanding in everything I say and do. I don’t want to confuse the world with my actions, saying one thing and doing another. Let my life always display Your love for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
