Day 301 – Hope
Proverbs 10:29 The way of JEHOVAH is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. 30 The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not inhabit the earth.
God’s name:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Kurios – Supreme Authority
Iesous – Jesus
Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
Theos – Supreme Divinity
Alpha and Omega – Beginning and End
God’s character:
Strength
Destruction
People hear promises every day. However, when those promises fail to happen, they no longer listen to the one making the promise. Doom and destruction are an old theme in movies and churches. Nobody listens anymore.
Solomon saw what JEHOVAH could do for His people, and he knew His promises never failed. Therefore, he could tell the people what would happen to the righteous and the wicked.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Kurios, you heard the many promises JEHOVAH made to His people. You needed something to believe in because the world didn’t offer hope but endless chaos.
What did you do to find the hope you longed for? Did you go to church, attend Bible studies, pray, read your Bible? What happened when you didn’t find the answers you wanted, but your life continued in endless chaos?
Yeshuwa spoke in parables to the people. One such parable spoke about people who heard the message of the kingdom, but many did not understand.
Matthew 13:1 On the same day Iesous went out of the house and sat by the sea. 2 Great multitudes gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 As he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 However, when the sun was up, they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 Some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 However, others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Many Christians go through the motions. They listen to what the minister says, but they don’t hear. They read their Bible studies, but they do not understand. They pray, but don’t expect answers. They soon stop going to church, reading their Bible, and praying. They traded one chaos for another. Then there are the Christians who read, study, pray, attend Bible studies, and listen to and hear what the minister and Bible study teacher says. They read their Bibles and understand because they study their Bible, they don’t only read it. They pray with conviction and hope, knowing the answer will come, maybe not when they want it to, but it will come.
Those who believe are the righteous people Solomon spoke about. Those who stop up their ears and continue in their wickedness will never receive the kingdom of God because Satan came along and stole the Word from them so they wouldn’t understand or grow in the grace and knowledge of their Kurios Iesous Christos. They are the ones Solomon said would not inhabit the earth because they continued in their wickedness.
Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also, there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Theos, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of Theos is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people. Theos Himself will be with them and be their Theos. 4 Theos will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make everything new.” He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6 He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes will inherit everything, and I will be his Theos, and he will be My son. 8 However, the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and liars will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Everyone who believes Yeshuwa is their Savior and Kurios will inherit eternal life. Those who don’t will spend eternity separated from Him. What is your eternal destination?
Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. My life has been filled with chaos. Change my heart so that I hear Your Word. Let it seep into the depths of my soul. Help me understand Your Word when I study it. Help me pray with conviction and hope. Take my life and make it Yours and let me be an instrument of power, grace, and mercy in Your hands to everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
