Day 304 – Humbleness
Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Kurios – Supreme Authority
Elohiym – Supreme God
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Pater – Father
God’s character:
Wisdom
Pride is about self. It doesn’t concern itself with others. It’s boastful, puffed up, and vainglorious. Shame is a byproduct of pride. It goes wherever pride goes. Shame brings about pride’s fall.
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Humbleness concerns itself with others. Wisdom is in the heart of the humble.
Pride is man’s downfall, but a humble spirit, Elohiym will honor.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of Kurios, and He will lift you up.
Many Christians take pride in their relationship with Yeshuwa. Is it wrong? Yes, because the person who takes pride in Yeshuwa talks only about what they do for Him, not what He does in them.
1 Corinthians 13:4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.
When you love as Yeshuwa loves, you won’t boast about what you do for Him, you will tell others what He does in your life. Yeshuwa can work with a humble spirit, but not with a proud one.
Psalm 10:4 The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek Elohiym; Elohiym is in none of his thoughts.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of JEHOVAH is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.
Mark 7:21 “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 These evil things come from within and defile a man.”
1 John 2:16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Pater but is of the world.
When you take your eyes off your accomplishments with boastful pride and give Yeshuwa the glory for what He did and continues to do in you, then you will have a humble spirit, one Yeshuwa will lift up with His grace.
Let’s pray: Father, take pride out of my life. Give me a humble spirit that gives You glory in everything You do in me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
