Day 308 – Second Death
Proverbs 11:7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, and the hope of the unjust perishes.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
Pneuma – Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
Theos – Supreme Divinity
Soter – Savior
Kurios – Supreme Authority
God’s character:
Judge
In this life, everyone dies. When they do the expectation of those as corrupt as they also die.
As king in Israel, Solomon saw the best and worst of people. He also decided whether a person would live or die.
As Christians, you know there is a death beyond this earthly life; separation from Yeshuwa for eternity.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christos was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Matthew 10:28 “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Revelation 2:11 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Pneuma says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.”’
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of Theos and of Christos and will reign with Him a thousand years.
Revelation 20:14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:8 “However, the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
It isn’t earthly death you need to fear, but the second death, separation from Yeshuwa for eternity. Satan doesn’t want to spend eternity in hell alone. He does everything he can to cause people to live corrupt lifestyles and reject Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios. He knows that as soon as you confess your sins and trust Him as Soter and Kurios, you change your eternal destination from death to life.
Have you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios? You have nothing to fear from death. If not, you can accept Him right now, confessing your sins and trusting Him as your Soter and Kurios. It’s not too late.
Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. I deserve separation from You for eternity. Forgive me of my sins and help me live my life for You, trusting You and being obedient to You in everything, so that when I die, I face You in eternity, and hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter the rest prepared for you.” In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
