Day 312 – Wisdom

Proverbs 11:12 He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his peace. 13 A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Elohiym – Supreme God

God’s character:

Wisdom

Understanding

Faithful

You know them. People who listen to gossip or give it out without discretion. They tell lies about people to satisfy their depravity as they sit back and watch the fallout of their words. They lack wisdom and so do everyone else who listens to them. However, those who do not listen to them keep quiet.

Elohiym gave Solomon more wisdom than anyone else. He could discern a matter when placed before him. Everything he did was with wisdom and understanding.

Christians, who had an old nature fixed in gossip and talebearing change their gossip to matters of prayer. Do not be deceived. It’s still gossiping and talebearing. They plant seeds in people’s hearts about people without taking the matter to Yeshuwa. Don’t listen to everything you hear about others; it’s rooted in deceit and unfaithfulness. Take everything you hear to Yeshuwa. Pray for discernment to separate the lie from the truth.

Only a person of wisdom and understanding, character traits of Yeshuwa, can discern what people tell them because they spend time with Him in His Word, in prayer, in Bible study, and in church with other believers. They know the truth from the lie. They also don’t tell everybody what they know but keep the secrets of people who tell them confidences.

What kind of person are you? Are you quick to tell everyone what you heard, or do you take what you heard to Yeshuwa?

Let’s pray: Father, put a guard on my mouth when I hear gossip. Give me discernment to know the truth and keep quiet about what I hear. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
