What technology would you be better off without, why?

In a world where technology rules, and people can’t wait for the next innovation that will make their world better, I can wait. Yes, I love technology. It’s only sometimes, rare, but sometimes I want to go back to a simpler life. I want to put all the gadgets and gizmos away, turn off the computer, the TV, and bring out an actual jigsaw puzzle, not one on the internet I can put together in less than fifteen minutes, but one that takes days to work, sometimes months. I want to take time out to read a book, an actual book with pages and covers. I have Kindle now, but I haven’t quite got the handle on it yet. I still like my books. I would love to get out paper and pen and write a story, not put my fingers on a keyboard and watch my words appear. However, my handwriting is such that now I would need a translator to read it, so the computer is best for storytelling now. I’m getting the hang of AI, but I would like to go back to before AI when I bounced my work off human ears and got feedback for what works and what doesn’t. I appreciate Writer’s Guild for that aspect of writing. It’s amazing what AI can do for storytelling. The suggestions it gives me makes my work sharper. I sometimes wonder what I would do without it, and for me it’s brand new. I only started using it with Firestorm.

So, though I would like to go back to an easier, quieter time. I like the technological breakthroughs for my time in life.

What about technology would you change, or not? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
