Day 326 – Righteous

Proverbs 11:28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

Qadowsh – Sacred God, Holy One

Ab – Father

God’s character:

Righteous

Many people trust in material objects, what they can handle and see. They look at the tangibility of their bank accounts and investments. They depend on them to keep them in good standing. However, they don’t realize wealth is fleeting. They don’t know the people they snub are wealthier than they.

Solomon saw that those who put their trust and hope in JEHOVAH flourished. He also saw how those with wealth depended on their wealth and not on Elohiym. In troubled times those who relied on their wealth fell, but those who relied on JEHOVAH prospered and flourished like foliage.

One saying I grew up with and I’m certain many of you did too is growing like weeds. Weeds grow everywhere. They overtake flower and vegetable gardens. You find them sprouting up in your lawns, and in the cracks of your sidewalks and driveways. When Solomon said the righteous flourished like foliage, he meant they prospered in everything they did because they relied on Elohiym.

As Christians, do you flourish like foliage? Is your life abundant in Yeshuwa? Are you growing in your faith? Do you trust in Yeshuwa when hard times come?

Yeshuwa told a parable about the different kinds of people in the world.

Matthew 13:18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and at once receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, at once he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 However, he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

When you rely on your position in your Christian community, when you volunteer for every position in church, make yourself available for every fundraiser so that your name is on everyone’s lips, you aren’t relying on Yeshuwa, but your status in the community. You want people to see how righteous you are. However, your righteousness is like filthy rags because you want people to notice you. Even though you tell yourself and others you’re doing it for Yeshuwa, you’re doing it for yourself to be seen as righteous. Satan has a hold of your heart, guiding you into believing that what you’re doing is a good thing. Other Christians will start to see your intentions and how they glorify you and not Yeshuwa and they will look for someone else to head the various positions in the church.

Read again Yeshuwa’s explanation of the Parable of the Sower. You fall into one of those areas. What do you need to change so you will receive the hundredfold blessing?

Yeshuwa looks for the humble and contrite spirit.

Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Qadowsh: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus says JEHOVAH: “Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? 2 For those things My hand has made, and those things exist,” says JEHOVAH. “However, on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.

You need to recognize your low estate and pray as Isaiah did.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are like an unclean thing, and our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7 There is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself to take hold of You; for You have hidden Your face from us and consumed us because of our iniquities. 8 But now, O JEHOVAH, You are our Ab; we are the clay, and You our potter; and we are the work of Your hand. 9 Do not be furious, O JEHOVAH, nor remember iniquity forever; indeed, please look-we are Your people!

What do you need to change to become righteous in Yeshuwa’s sight and receive the blessing He wants to give you?

Let’s pray: Father, too often I look at what I can do to elevate myself in the eyes of others and forget it isn’t me, but You I need to elevate. I am nothing, Lord. I am filthy. Cleanse my heart and life so that when people look at me, they see You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
