Day 333 – Thoughts
Proverbs 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right, but the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. 6 The words of the wicked are, “Lie in wait for blood,” but the mouth of the upright will deliver them.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
- Pater – Father
- Iesous – Jesus
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- God’s character:
- Righteous
- Deliverer
Everyone has thoughts that lead them in various ways. Good thoughts lead to good actions. While wicked thoughts lead to bad counsel and actions.
As king, Solomon heard the words people said, saw their actions, and noticed the difference between the thoughts of a righteous person and those of the wicked. Words are like food. They are either pleasant or bitter.
Proverbs 23:6 Do not eat the bread of a miser, nor want his delicacies; 7 for as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you. 8 The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit and waste your pleasant words.
However, when your thoughts come from JEHOVAH, you will have good counsel.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says JEHOVAH, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and hope.
When you trust Yeshuwa in everything, your thoughts will line up with His thoughts, and you will always have good counsel. You will also know bad counsel when you hear it because the Hagios Pneuma lives in you and guides you in truth. You will know the counsel of the world, directed by Satan, and you will recognize the counsel of the Hagios Pneuma which leads you in truth and righteousness.
Whose counsel are you listening to? What thoughts govern your life?
Genesis 6:5 Then JEHOVAH saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
1 Chronicles 28:9 “As for you, my son Solomon, know the Elohiym of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for JEHOVAH searches every heart and understands the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
Yeshuwa told a parable to the people about how your thoughts can defile you.
- Matthew 15:10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
- 12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
- 13 He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Pater has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
- 15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
- 16 Iesous said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 “Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 Those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adultery, fornications, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
When you allow the Hagios Pneuma to govern your thoughts and words, you will always live a righteous life. Then your words will deliver you from sinful men. While the thoughts, words, and actions of evil people will condemn them.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of Theos is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Let’s pray: Father, govern my thoughts, put a guard on my lips, let no evil thought come near me to destroy my relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
