Day 335 – Servant

Proverbs 12:9 Better is the one who is slighted but has a servant, than he who honors himself but lacks bread.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Elohiym – Supreme God

Iesous – Jesus

Pater – Father

Theos – Supreme Divinity

Kurios – Supreme Authority

God’s character:

Servant

Teacher

How often do people say things against your character that aren’t true? It started on the playground when bullies made up lies against you to get you to retaliate. Your friends stood by you and offered encouragement to walk away and not listen to them. Bullies are boastful, lack understanding and find themselves on the losing end of life.

As king, Solomon often came up against people who slandered him. Yet he used wisdom and understanding to rule the nation. He surrounded himself with advisors and kept Elohiym close to his heart as his father, David, instructed him.

When you became a Christian, Satan became your adversary, taunting you with half-truths and lies stemming from your past. Yeshuwa promised to be with you to protect you from Satan’s lies. In that, He is your Servant. Often referred to as the Servant King.

John 13:3 Iesous, knowing that the Pater had given everything into His hands, and that He had come from Theos and was going to Theos, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 Then He came to Simon Peter. Peter said to Him, “Kurios, are You washing my feet?” 7 Iesous answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.” 8 Peter said to Him, “You will never wash my feet!” Iesous answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” 9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Kurios, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” 10 Iesous said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.” 12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Kurios, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Kurios and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

Yeshuwa showed by example the role of a servant. When Satan comes against you with lies, you are to look to your Servant and He will defend you against his lies. Satan uses charisma in his tactics. However, charisma will not put food on the table or pay the bills. You have more with Yeshuwa than the world does without Him.

Let’s pray: Father, You sent Your Son, Your Servant King as an example of how I am to treat everyone. Give me a servant’s attitude and show the world who You are, my King, and my God. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
