Day 337 –  Provider

Proverbs 12:11 He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding. 12 The wicked covet the catch of evil men, but the root of the righteous yields fruit.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Elohiym – Supreme God

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

God’s character:

Provider

Do you know people who expect handouts without working for what they need? They live frivolous lives expecting that whatever they need will come to them. Only those who do the work will see the harvest and know the fruit of their labor.

Solomon knew those who worked to provide for themselves and their families. He also knew those who lived frivolously. He saw how Elohiym provided for those who worked their land and provided everything they needed because they trusted in Him.

Many Christians expect others to provide for them. They say they believe Yeshuwa will provide everything they need without doing any of the work.

When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, JEHOVAH told him he would work the ground with the sweat of his brow. Nothing would come easy to him. He needed to do the work. The same is true today. As Christians, you need to set the example and do the work Yeshuwa provided for you.

Don’t be a lazy Christian and expect others to give you what you need without working for it.

Ephesians 4:28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. (NKJV)

There are those who can’t work. They need help, and you are to help them, but you are not to help those who can work but do nothing to take care of themselves.

When you see a need, pray. Seek Yeshuwa’s counsel to decide the genuineness of the need.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to work with my hands to provide what I need. Give me discernment when I see people in need, so I know the truth about their needs, and help those who are truly in need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
