A long time ago in a small town in Israel, an angel appeared to a young woman and told her she would be the mother of the Savior of the world. Everything she knew disappeared in a moment. She would become a mother without knowledge of a man. The fact that she was pregnant and unmarried was enough to get her stoned to death. Yet, God had a plan. Nothing was what she expected.

How many Christmases have you faced where nothing was what you expected? How many of those unexpected moments became the times you treasure most?

God always has a plan, especially in your unexpected moments. It looks like everything you planned is falling apart and nothing will work the way it’s supposed to. I guarantee everything you’re going through is no surprise to God. You need to trust His plan.

His plan? He sent the angel Gabriel to Mary to tell her that her son would be the Savior. What did that mean? Later when Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple to have him circumcised, Simeon told her a sword would pierce her soul too when He died for the sins of the entire world. God’s plan – Salvation.
