Day 345 – Friend
Proverbs 12:26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Soter – Savior
Kurios – Supreme Authority
Pater – Father
God’s character:
Righteous
Friend
When you were young, your parents stressed making good friends and taught you the type of person you should stay away from.
Solomon learned about friends from his father by the friendships he formed. Everyone needs friends, some are better than others.
Proverbs 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Friendship goes both ways, which is why you need to choose wisely and make good friends.
When you became a Christian, Yeshuwa called you friend. He chose you. He knew the kind of character you had before you accepted Him as your Soter and Kurios.
John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Pater I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Pater in My name He may give you.
What kind of friend are you? Do your friends help you or lead you astray?
Let’s pray: Father, help me be a friend who honors You in my friendships and helps my friends to know You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
