Wisdom
Children go through stages. They believe their parents are the most intelligent people alive when they’re young. However, by the time they reach the teenage to young adult years, they believe their parents don’t know anything about what matters most. Then surprisingly, they realized their parents knew what they were talking about all along.
Solomon learned from experience, having been through those stages and could see the wisdom of age and that fathers were wise in their instruction.
Christians go through the same stages of growth in their Christian walk. When they accept Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, they spend hours reading their Bibles, going to church, Bible studies, and prayer services. They want to know as much as they can about their new life. Then they reach that stage in their Christian development when they don’t believe they need to read their Bibles or go to church, Bible studies, or attend prayer services, they reached the know-it-all stage of their Christian development. Life goes back to what it was before they accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios.
Wise Christians listens to their instructors. They heed what they’re told. Their Bibles are open every day. They attend Bible studies and prayer groups. They want as much of Yeshuwa as they can get. They want to know Him intimately. They see new instruction every time they read His Word. They know they don’t know everything about the Christian life.
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of Theos, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of Theos may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Where are you in your Christian walk? Do you open Yeshuwa’s Word daily, or does it sit on the shelf or in your pocket as an unopened app on your phone? You only learn when you spend time with Yeshuwa daily. As you begin a new year, make it a priority to spend time in Yeshuwa’s Word daily, glean from Him what He teaches you and give Him praise as Your Soter and Kurios.
Let’s pray: Father, keep me humble, knowing I don’t know everything about You. Teach me daily what You want me to know. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
