Day 349 – Accountability

Proverbs 13:2 A man will eat well by the fruit of his mouth, but the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence. 3 He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips will have destruction. 4 The soul of a lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent will be made rich.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Kurios – Supreme Authority

Iesous – Jesus

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

Theos – Supreme Divinity

God’s character:

Provider

Society divides people between the haves and the have nots. They look up to those who have and believe they are upstanding men and women. They shun those who look like they will never accomplish anything of worth. However, those who have can also be the most dangerous people you could meet. They gain their wealth through dishonesty and corruption. While those who look destitute are in a better place in life. When they speak, people listen to them. That is not to say that everyone who is wealthy is dishonest and everyone who is poor has good character. The opposite could also be true. You need to assess a person’s character not by their wealth but by their personality. How they treat others will tell you whether they are good or bad.

Solomon was not swayed by those who looked well off but by how they treated others. What they said, what they did spoke volumes. He also saw those who didn’t try to better themselves but let others do the work they should have done. He did not tolerate laziness in anyone.

If you name the name of Yeshuwa over your life, everything you do should reflect His character in you. When it does, you will see His provision in your life. You might not look wealthy, but your actions proclaim it. It isn’t how much money you have in the bank, but how you treat others that make you wealthy in Yeshuwa’s eyes.

James saw how Christians treated people and told them what he saw among them.

James 2:1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Kurios Iesous Christos, the Kurios of glory, with partiality. 2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, 3 and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” 4 have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has Theos not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6 However, you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? 7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called? 8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You will love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

People see everything you do and hold you accountable for your actions. Therefore, you need to show the faithfulness of Yeshuwa in your life and let Him direct your words and actions. When you do, you will see His provision in everything you need.

Let’s pray: Father, let my life: my words and actions, show Your faithfulness to me. Guide me in everything I do so that I will not bring shame to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
