Day 350 – Righteousness
Proverbs 13:5 A righteous man hates lying, but a wicked man is loathsome and comes to shame. 6 Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Righteous
What do you hate? What is loathsome to you? Many people prefer to be around those who tell the truth and shun those who spend their lives telling lies.
Solomon saw how people behaved toward others. He saw how people pushed their desires to the forefront of their lives and would do anything to achieve their goals, even lying.
What does your life reflect as a child of Yeshuwa? Do you see Yeshuwa as someone who will do what you want, take care of your desires, meet your needs? You are a child of Yeshuwa, not so He can fulfill your needs, but so you will fulfill His.
When your goal in life is to glorify Yeshuwa in everything, the mere idea of pushing yourself forward becomes loathsome to you. You will set yourself apart from those who lie and cheat to gain what they want. Righteousness becomes your guard against evil.
Whose will do you put forward – yours or Yeshuwa’s? Live to serve Yeshuwa in everything and no one will mistake you for someone who seeks his way in everything.
Let’s pray: Father, let my life reflect Your service in everything I say and do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
