Day 362 – Fallow Ground

Proverbs 13:23 Much food is in the fallow ground of the poor, and for lack of justice there is waste.

  • God’s names:
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Pater – Father
  • Iesous – Jesus
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • God’s character:
  • Provider
  • Righteous
  • Merciful

People work to put food on their tables and take care of their families. They will do whatever they can to provide a good living for those they love. However, those who refuse to work will find their tables bare. They will complain loudly about injustice while they waste their lives.

It looks like Solomon talks about people providing food for their tables. Instead, Solomon used fallow ground as the fertile place in the lives of those who trusted JEHOVAH to provide everything they needed to live. Those who didn’t trust JEHOVAH wasted their lives in their own pleasures.

JEHOVAH wants His people to prepare their hearts to serve Him.

Jeremiah 4:3 For thus says JEHOVAH to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “Break up your fallow ground, and do not sow among thorns. 4 Circumcise yourselves to JEHOVAH, and take away the foreskins of your hearts, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, lest My fury come forth like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.”

Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek JEHOVAH, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.

JEHOVAH wants to provide everything you need. The only thing He asks is obedience.

As Christians, Yeshuwa asks no more of you than He did for His chosen people. He wants your obedience. When you seek Him with your whole heart, He will provide not only what you need, but your wants as well.

Yeshuwa told the people He came to do His Pater’s will. If He was obedient to His Pater in everything, you should be obedient to Him as well.

When Yeshuwa spoke to the woman at the well, His disciples questioned among themselves whether someone had brought Him food.

John 4:34 Iesous said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

Your food isn’t in what you eat, it’s in what you do for Yeshuwa. When you are obedient to Him, He will supply everything you need.

Philippians 4:19 And my Theos will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.

Mark 10:29 So Iesous answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.

What do you want? Do you want to follow your desires or Yeshuwa and receive everything you need in this life and eternal life in the life to come?

Break up your fallow ground, and sow in the work Yeshuwa gives you.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to seek You with my whole heart and remain faithful to You in everything, trusting You to provide everything I need in this life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
