Day 5 – Image
Proverbs 14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge. 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit. 9 Fools mock at sin, but among the upright there is favor.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Knowledge
Wisdom
Favor
When you get together with friends or colleagues for a relaxing social time, someone always brags about their achievements. The moment they open their mouths you know what kind of person they are. You might laugh lightheartedly at their jokes, but you learn quickly to avoid them and their foolish behavior. You gravitate to those who show understanding in everything they say and do.
Solomon said to avoid foolish people. They showed deceit in everything they did, unmindful of their foolishness.
You can find just as many fools among Christians, those who brag about their accomplishments and volunteer for every committee so their name would be seen everywhere. They only care about being seen in the right roles, doing the right things, saying the right things. Their smiles are firmly planted on their faces until they get away from their ‘duties’. For them, Christianity is a duty, not a relationship. It doesn’t take long before people see them for who they are and avoid them.
Where does your loyalty lie as a Christian? Do you embrace Christianity and Yeshuwa with a heart of love and devotion, or do you embrace it for what it will do for your image? Those seeking a relationship with Yeshuwa will find favor from Him, and people will know how genuine you are in your love for Him. They will see it in your service, and affection for one another.
Let Yeshuwa’s grace and favor rest on your life as you devote yourselves to Him and His work, seeking Him with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Let’s pray: Father, You are my God. I rejoice in my relationship with You. Let the work of my hands and the words I speak bring joy to those I meet every day. Let Your grace and favor rest on me. Help me to grow in You more each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
