Day 8 – Life
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- KURIOS – Supreme Authority
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- God’s character:
- Judge
Talk to anybody and they will tell you they’re right, and you need to listen to them. They have experience, so they know what they are talking about. People can have knowledge about many things, but their ways aren’t always the right way.
Solomon knew there was only one way that mattered. He learned it the hard way. Growing up the son of David, a man after JEHOVAH’S heart, he knew the Law and what it required. He was a man of wisdom and knowledge. Yet Solomon strayed from JEHOVAH when he married foreign women who served other elohiym and he started too also. It wasn’t until he came close to the end of his life when he realized JEHOVAH’S way was the only way and served Him once again.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohiym and keep His commandments, for this is man’s everything. 14 For Elohiym will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
When you turned your life over to Yeshuwa, you committed yourself to learn everything you could about Him. You do that by reading His Word and doing what it says. Reading the Bible is no guarantee that you are on the right path. Many people use the Bible for their own purpose but have no idea what is contained between the covers.
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does JEHOVAH require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your Elohiym?
Deuteronomy 10:12 “And now, Israel, what does JEHOVAH your Elohiym require of you, but to fear JEHOVAH your Elohiym, to walk in His ways and to love Him, to serve JEHOVAH your Elohiym with your entire heart and with your entire soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of JEHOVAH and His statutes which I command you today for your good?
Deuteronomy 5:33 “You will walk in the ways which JEHOVAH your Elohiym has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.
Matthew 22:37 Iesous said to him, “‘You will love KURIOS your Theos with your entire heart, with your entire soul, and with your entire mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You will love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang the entire Law and the Prophets.”
This is the way that seems right to Elohiym. You can only do that by reading His Word, attending church and Bible studies, and being with other Christians to receive encouragement from them, and give encouragement. You can have all the knowledge possible for man, but if you do not know Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you have nothing.
Open Yeshuwa’s Word today. Read it, study it, and do it.
James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and at once forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Don’t only think you are right; do what is right. Put your faith, trust, and hope in Yeshuwa and you will see life, not death when you stand before Him on the first day of the rest of your life.
Let’s pray: Father, fill me with Your Word so that I know what You want me to do. Give me Your understanding and knowledge so I can encourage others to seek You and be found by You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
